Head & Shoulders’ Spokesman Is Immortalized in Wax

Troy Polamalu gets likeness at Madame Tussauds.

Procter & Gamble was on to a good thing when it signed Pittsburgh Steeler All-Pro Troy Polamalu as the spokesman for its Head & Shoulders shampoo brand. Now the free safety has been immortalized by New York City wax museum Madame Tussauds for the 2012 NFL season.

Polamalu has been growing his hair for nearly a decade to honor his Samoan roots. After his wax replica’s stint is over in New York, it will embark on a nationwide tour, where footbal fans will get a chance to view the figure up close. The wax likeness will even make appearances in NFL broadcast booths.
“We are proud to kick off the third year of partnership with Troy Polamalu in the most Legendaryous way – celebrating his iconic mane as it becomes immortalized by Madame Tussauds,” said April Anslinger, Brand Manager of Head & Shoulders at Procter and Gamble. “With each passing year, the partnership with Troy Polamalu and the National Football League has become bolder and more humorous but most importantly, it has helped build a stronger connection with our male target and de-stigmatize that Head & Shoulders is just for dandruff.”
